Technical Sales Representative

Main Attributes:

- The candidate’s primary objective is to achieve the commercial objectives for Alumina Process Chemicals at specified accounts undertaking all such activities required to ensure Solvay’s safety value is upheld.
- Actively participate in the construction and implementation of the sales account strategy for the customers in scope
- Develop new applications and establish a sustainable relationship with the customer by ensuring multi-level contacts at - Refinery Mines, and Corporate Offices as required
- Complete and execute plans for the exploitation of sales opportunities in coordination with the regional and global Alumina sales team
- Drive New Product Introduction and commercialization. This candidate would be accountable for business planning including trial and commercial proposals, sales forecasting, account planning, and pricing recommendations 
- Actively participates in the planning and execution of plant trials and general technical support to the customers
- Actively collect market intelligence and support the global sales and marketing team in establishing the sales strategy in anticipation of market changes and/or evolutions.
- Establish and maintain productive work relationships with Solvay Cross functional teams including the technical services support team, R&I team, Customer Service and Logistics team among others
- Apply and adhere to Solvay safety regulations in all circumstances
- Ensure compliance to internal reporting requirement including but not limited to call report / service report / call out report / monthly highlight / trial proposal / trial report
- Comply to Solvay policies such as code of conduct, anti-bribery, anti-trust, business travel expense guidelines

A successful candidate will:

·   Possess a Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering, metallurgy or chemistry

·   Communicate written and spoken English

·   Alumina process experience or related equipment and process chemical reagent field.

·   Demonstrate good technical and commercial sense with a high focus on value selling

·   Desire to build excellent customer relationships while promoting Solvay products to the benefit of the client

·   Demonstrate excellent project planning skills related to planning and execution of laboratory work and product trials

·   Expert compentency in MS Excel, Word and Powerpoint and/or google chrome identical programs

·   Possess excellent writing skills in support of information exchanges with customers and internal Solvay

·   Problem solver by nature, acting as first point of contact for the customer in case of product questions or requests for support

·   High focus on commercial skills – possess technical skills and interest – independent and compliance focused

A successful candidate may:

·   Demonstrate a hunter personality, with competencies like autonomy, selfmotivation and frustration tolerance

·   Be hands-on and willing to actively participate in laboratory tests and trial activities

·   Be a strong team player with focus on compliance to company policies

·   Be comfortable with working remotely, with selfmanagement

·   Willing to travel and available to attend the customers´needs and emergencies

·   Able to operate in a global/virtual organization
